Bows Equal Happiness

Here at Twisty Twig my dining room table is my workspace... but it is the perfect size. I have to have all necessary items close by, hence the Mac (for Facebook moments!) and the phone!

.... and in other news Grace and Phillips invitations are complete! I loved working on them so much and I am looking forward to the next great couple I will work with! Below are the beautifully packaged invitations....

Tissue paper is my friend... I love it and Hallmark is my favorite supplier!!! I also used my stamp to add a little bit of Twisty Twig to it! :)

To finish everything has to be wrapped in a bow... bows make people happy and me!

Ink Stained Fingers!

AHHHH! Ink stains! Haha actually they are welcomed here in my Twisty Twig world, but this is what happens after four hours of calligraphy! I am currently working on Grace and Phillip's invitations and I have 28 done with bunches more to go..... I am noticing though that I am getting better and quicker with time and I am actually having tons of fun with it!

Hope everyone had a wonderful fourth of July!!

Finished Promises...

Hello All! I am sure you probably thought I had disappeared or well that Twisty Twig had, but it is still here running in my veins! I am so excited about addressing my first set of envelopes starting in July for Grace and Phillip! (I will be starting the invites as soon as I get back from Europe which I am super excited about!)

So along with beginning to pack for Europe this evening I decided to tackle some Twisty Twig projects and I wanted to share them with you! I, of course worked on a "mock" Grace invitation.

Don't you love it because I sure do! Now have you noticed that sweet little logo/business card?!

A very long time ago I promised you that I would show you the exciting plans I had for this logo and here it is! While shopping at A.C. Moore I ran across these awesome letterpress paper in the size of business cards... purely AMAZING!

So here is my well used stamp (I stamped it fifty thousand times already because I was so excited!)

I ordered my stamp from Simon Stamps and it was absolutely perfect in every way!

Getting this stamp made me want to design so many new things so that I can have tons of personalized stamps! Haha.. I am actually in the process of designing a logo for a close friend and I can not wait to show you that... one day... we all know how slow my process is!

I hope everyone has a great start to summer and I will blog as soon as I get back and get started on Grace's invites! :)

A-A-A-A

Calligraphy has made me go crazy....

Just kidding... but having fun along the way as I work on ABCs for Grace and Phillip! Check it out below... yes it looks a little messy, but perfection takes much practice! insert: smile with a wink... haha

Also... have you noticed the *new* Twisty Twig logo? So excited about it and I can't wait to show you my future planned project with it (you will be head over heels for it)!

Hope you have a great Friday!

Grace and Phillip

My first couple! I am so overjoyed by Grace and Phillip's wedding and the opportunity to address their wedding invites! I met Grace when I worked at Camp Don Lee in Arapahoe, NC and she has been a sweetheart ever since. Our get-together to chat about what she wanted was quite funny because neither one of us really knew what to expect (this was my first time talking with someone about what they wanted and Grace had no idea there were so many ways to write the letter "d")... haha! After much deliberation and laughter we finally decided on this:

Grace and Phillip's wedding will be an outside October wedding so she wanted something a little casual, but slightly formal. I think she picked a perfect option and I can not wait to get started! Pictures will definitely be posted of my first journey so stay tuned!

Sweet Francesca

One of the joys of my life is this sweet Francesca kitty. I found Francesca at the Pitt County Animal Shelter fall of 2008 and I have loved her since the day I got her. In the afternoons she greets me at my feet and all I have to say is "Franny-Fran-Fran-Fran" and she hums just perfectly. I hope you have a sweet kitty or puppy that greets you daily and loves to sit with you!

Rainy Days

It's a rainy day so I take the time to play with calligraphy! Sorry for the photo quality... my phone doesn't take the best pictures and I wanted to upload pretty quickly! Hope you have fun looking!

Playing with Names...

Some of these names are family members and others I have made up. Sort of reminds me of that line in the beginning of fiction books...
This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, events, or locales is entirely coincidental.
Anyway, that is of course not the reason behind this post, but these are:

my sweet momma.

is completely fictional :)

... hmm I know some Heather's, but this was
purely to practice the "H"

this is my great aunt Faye who I love very much!

is just a cute lil' name!
